Unlocking the Golden Door
Christo Jacob
Monday, April 1, 2013
What makes Indian entrepreneurs trek to the valley and become successful? As per the recent forecasts, 10 million Indians aspire to leave their country and move to the U.S. permanently. Moreover Indians form the third largest group of people followed by China (19 million) and Nigeria (13 million) who would like to move to the U.S. permanently. This indicates how U.S as a country is a golden doorway welcoming the immigrant entrepreneurs to unlock different avenues to succeed in their career.

We believe that the Indians could achieve this only due to seeds sown by the predecessors. Indian entrepreneurs have a very strong support network here in the U.S. 30 years ago, when Indians began creating ripples in Silicon Valley, the first generation of successful startup founders worked hard to help those who followed. They built organizations and created a U.S. ecosystem of successful Indian entrepreneurs - and, crucially, angel funders - to accelerate newcomers. Going back to the Valley history, we were in the search to track down such people and share the untold stories.

In this issue, we have identified few such aspiring entrepreneurs who trekked to the Valley in the past and have taken different in roads to succeed in their career. "Arjun Gupta: 5 Decades of Venturing and Adventuring" describes the odyssey of Arjun Gupta, ace venture capitalists and founder of TeleSoft Partners right from his school days to emerging today as the most sought after Venture Capitalists in the Valley. Read about his illustrious life as a mountaineer, a VC and as the 'Chief Believer' at TeleSoft Partners and know more about what makes him a success in the unrelenting world of the Silicon Valley.
This edition has one more compelling story about the man who aspired to become an entrepreneur from a middle class Bengali family fighting against all the hurdles turning into milestones in his life. Today DJ Das, CEO of Third Eye Consulting is in the middle of massive evangelization about Big Data lending hands and insights about bringing up skilled force in the field of Big Data and Cloud Computing.

And we believe going forward; we would be able to share with you more compelling stories as unlocking the Golden Door is almost every entrepreneur's aspiration.
