Pioneering developments in wireless

A successful entrepreneur and technologist, Dr. Sandeep Sibal recently took over as the VP Technology of Qualcomm India and South Asia. Sibal will be looking after the Qualcomm’s wireless technologies and solutions in the region. Apart from this, he will handle the adoption of technology initiatives such as gpsOne, BREW, MediaFLO, and Mobile Commerce within the wireless ecosystem in the region.

Before joining Qualcomm, Sibal was with Reliance Communications as the Technology Advisor since its commercial launch. He was also the co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Kirusa, a U.S. based company that that pioneered and continues to be successful in multi-modal device user interfaces. He also has a prior work experience with AT&T Bell Labs and AT&T Shannon Labs in New Jersey.

A graduate in Electronics and Communications Engineering from IIT Madras, Sibal pursued his masters in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Rice University. He also holds a doctorate degree in Electrical Computer and Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and has 15 patents to his credit. Additionally, he attended the Executive Program at MIT Sloan School of Management.
