Nesamoney’s real-time venture

AT THE BEGINNING OF THE DOT-COM COLLAPSE Cisco wrote off $2.5 billion in excess inventory, as it did not have up-to-date information on the slowdown in demand. The need for real-time enterprise solutions, where decision-makers are immediately empowered with essential information, became critical. Perceiving the opportunities for real-time software, Diaz Nesamoney founded ViewCeler in September 2002. The product is likely to be launched in mid-2003.

Nesamoney says he is the kind of person who wants to be constantly challenged. In July 2002, Nesamoney resigned from Informatica, which he co-founded in 1993. He has played a key role in Informatica, from the startup stage to a $200 million public company and market leader in business analytics solutions by the year 2001.

Palo Alto-based Viewceler raised $6.5 million in Series A financing from Lightspeed Venture Partners and Bay Partners in November 2002. This round of financing will allow Viewceler to accelerate research and development efforts and rapidly expand its core development team. “The current business and technology climate is ideal for fueling a new wave of innovation, particularly around 'disruptive technologies' focused on achieving the next major advances in enterprise responsiveness and productivity,” says Nesamoney, “and Viewceler is poised to capitalize on this emerging opportunity.”
