Jai Rawat - Chabi.com
Sunday, August 1, 1999

Founder, CEO and CTO, of Chabi.com, Jai Rawat wants to make his mark. And he seems to have found a key to it. With a mere 6 years' experience in the high technology arena under his belt, he has already held key positions in successful technology companies such as TIBCO and LSI.

Just last summer Rawat and partner Samir Palnitkar launched Chabi.com (In Hindi, "Chabi" means a key), a company based on Web technology designed to simplify users' online e-commerce experience. By automating the flow of information between consumers and Web sites, Chabi.com's patent-pending technology simplifies all kinds of Internet transactions including login, registration and purchasing transactions. Rawat began working on his idea for a comprehensive system that would consolidate online consumer profile information after becoming increasingly frustrated with filling out numerous online forms and having to keep track of login IDs and passwords at an ever-increasing number of sites. "The idea was appealing to everyone we talked to - they could relate right away." says Rawat. Since then, Chabi.com has grown to a team of more than thirty and has already launched a pilot version of its services, available on the Internet. It expects to roll out services on a global scale by the end of the year.

Rawat began his career at LSI Logic developing complex software applications for automating chip design and layout, where his consistent excellence and leadership skills led him to manage a team of engineers. Later, he joined startup Tibco in 1998 and stayed until he and long-time friend Palnitkar launched a startup of their own in Chabi.com.
