Clark is Cool
In a predominantly man’s world does one have to “swigbrew-with-the-crew” to be part of the gang? I agree with Clark’s viewpoint that to succeed one has to be vocal and visible and set expectations for oneself and the others around you. I have been curious as to why this magazine has found very little interest in covering women in the tech industry? Is lack of them a cause? I wonder.

Leadership is definitely not about power, and Ranjana Clark has shown it in her rise up the Wachovia ladder. While dextrous in her handling of the mega merger between Wachovia and First Union, the smaller company has come out tops. In this Clark has won acclaim. The magazine should section out a column for women.

Patel Performs

The CIO of Chico’s has proved that IT can be the differentiator in business, yet has aligned the IT initiative to the business needs of Chico’s. No business, no IT is a true statement indeed. I have seen many businesses where the CIO uses consultants to build just the business plan for IT in the enterprise. Patel has truly understood the business.

Valient Vaidya

Vimal Vaidya’s fourth startup could just be what the “VC Doctor” ordered With no venture funding this time, he has embarked into a hot space of end-point security. It will be interesting to see if the giants will gobble this up too.
