As wearable devices keep getting better by the day the market has flooded with several smart watches. Most popular ones are Pebble, Martian, i'm Watch, Metawatch to name a few. These smart gadgets are very useful; however they all miss one important feature. They do not act like independent phones but only work as an extension to one's smartphone. But a group of young and enthusiastic Indian techies are out to change that and have designed 'Androidly', a gadget which is both, an android smartphone and a watch combined together.

The team behind this innovation is young and bustling with energy. Apurva Sukant, CEO; Ankit Pradhan, CTO; Bala Murugan, CPO; Siddhant Vats, CMO and Pavneet Puri, CCO are all 20 something’s who were scattered all across the globe and they brainstormed, designed and coded over the internet.

The young Indian coders believe that users have always interacted with technology by either picking something up, or by taking it out of our their pockets. Androidly looks to change the paradigm, by integrating technology with users. Users are now free to do anything, anytime from their wrist, without having to pick something up.

Their product, 'Androidly' boasts of features that any smartphone has. Users can make and receive phone calls with the built-in speaker and microphone, and can also sync it with a bluetooth headset for making calls; click pictures with the 2 Mega Pixel camera, one can connect to Wi-Fi to browse the Internet, and download applications from the Google Play Store. Applications such as Facebook, Twitter, Angry Birds, Cut the rope, Adobe Reader, Winamp, Team Viewer etc can easily be used on this smartwatch. However applications specifically designed for Ice Cream Sandwich or Jelly Bean devices with a higher resolution are not supported. But the percentage of such applications are small, still leaving users with a plethora of applications to choose from.

"Androidly has access to a massive marketplace of apps, most of them free, so it is infinitely customizable and adapts to the consumer's pattern of use," says Vats. Although the past has taught us that wearable devices are not the hottest selling gadgets but with an investor on board, Androidly is looking to capture the market. The motivated team has not only built an innovative product but is also testament to the growing prowess of the Indian technopreneur globally.
