Sale is the core part of a successful business. And that is why The MathWorks, a developer of software for technical computing and model-based design, has opened an office in Bangalore with the responsibility to sell and support the company’s Matlab and Simulink product families throughout India.

The new office will provide direct support and services to The MathWorks’ customer base in India, particularly in the aerospace, defense, automotive, industrial automation and machinery, technical services, and academic sectors. The firm will also maintain its distributor relationship with Cranes Software, which will continue to serve some customers in the government and educational sectors.

“Many of our customers now have research and development facilities in India and will gain increased direct service and support from The MathWorks”, said Jeanne O’Keefe, Chief Financial Officer of the company.

The new Bangalore location will initially employ approximately 30 people. The MathWorks was founded in 1984 and employs more than 2,000 people worldwide, with headquarters in Natick, Massachusetts.
