Brocade has recently announced the appointment of Ashis Guha as its India Country Manager. With 14 years of industry experience in areas that include direct sales, channel management, business development, and marketing, Guha joins Brocade from Sun Microsystems, where he was the General Manger and was responsible for Sun's storage business and strategy in the northern and eastern regions of the country.

In his newfound role at Brocade, he will be responsible for driving the company's overall business development, marketing, and sales initiatives in India. "While at Sun, I was involved with customers directly; and at Brocade I will not only be interacting with the customers but also forging the company's strong relationships with several OEMs like HP, IBM, and others," says Guha. He feels that increasing one's value proposition and reaching out to maximum customers in the current recession-hit market will be his greatest challenge.

Content with the way his career has shaped up, he remarks that his stint at NetApp in 2001 has been the turning point as it was there that he was first exposed to the storage market, the field in which he has remained till date. Guha strongly believes in commitment to work and sharing responsibilities.
