You don’t have to know everything to be a good quizzer, you just have to think out of the box,” says Jaspreet Bindra, winner of the Brand Equity Quiz three thrice in a row and Country Manager, Windows Live and MSN India.

A chemical engineering graduate, with an MBA from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Bindra’s career path paints a vivid picture, quite like the man himself. “I always wanted to work in the IT sphere as I believe that a majority of the knowledgeable people work here,” he says.

After being absorbed into Tata Administrative Services (TAS), Bindra held senior sales, marketing and general business management positions before his eventual move to telecom and the Internet.

It was after the ‘dot com movement’ that Bindra found it necessary to explore new avenues in this expanding field. His efforts finally paid off as he co-founded Baazee.com- currently known as eBay India.

A fervent quizzer and often winner in most of the quizes, Bindra’s funda is not about being fully prepared but being able to think out of the box for every question.

He applies the same concept of lateral thinking in his work management, with a belief that there is no obvious solution to any problem and that every problem has a solution. Following the Gandhian principle of “be the change you want to see,” Bindra feels that a good leader should be the change and difference needed. An avid reader, you can spot him enjoying a PG Woodhouse in leisure time.
