Setting high standards

Sarbpreet Singh has had stints at some of the premier organizations such as GE, Bell Labs, and Lucent in his twenty plus years of career in the IT industry. A graduate from BITS Pilani, Singh completed his masters in the U.S. and started his career as a hardcore 'techie'. But a decade ago, he made a transition from the technical side to take up managerial roles. He also considers this the turning point in his career. After spending a major part of his career in the U.S. it was 'India Calling' for Singh, and he joined Future Soft as its COO, and after its acquisition by Felxtronics, he took over the post of Senior VP and GM before finally joining Global Edge as COO and President.

As a person easy to interact with, Singh enjoys being surrounded by people and mentoring them. He believes in setting high standards for himself and people around him. Being up front and transparent and being able to motivate and lead a team are his strengths. After working with large organizations, leading a relatively smaller organization is challenging, and his greatest challenge at Global Edge is efficient use of the limited resources while driving the growth of the company.

A great lover of Gurmat Sangeet, he has also started Gurmat Sangeet Project dedicated to preserve and spread awareness about it. He also teaches it to a group of kids at Boston. Apart from this, he is also passionate about Hindustani Classical music. His mantra for life is "Take it one day at a time and live it like a good human being."
