Tuesday, July 1, 2008
Dr. Jayendra Ramesan has been recently appointed as the Practice Head – Analytics at Dexterity. He is the ex-Director, Sales and Marketing Analytics, Dun & Bradstreet (D&B), U.S. and brings with him over 15 years of experience in the global IT industry. Prior to D&B, he has worked at leading companies like IBM, AT&T Labs, Bell Labs (Lucent), and Coopers & Lybrand. He has also headed his own venture in India offering services in the areas of CRM analytics, global leadership development and individual enablement. Jayendra has completed his Ph.D in Business Administration (Marketing) from Florida Atlantic University, USA, and is a graduate of IIT, Madras and IIM, Ahmedabad.

In his new role he will handle multiple responsibilities, like scaling the organization’s strength, the practice and excellence. “Unlike my earlier roles, at Dexterity, I will have to build the various practices, collaterals and businesses in the organization from scratch. In the earlier companies, I just had the responsibility of leveraging the already set business, explains Dr. Ramesan. At Dexterity, he will also work towards setting up a global center of excellence with partnerships with leading academic institutions in India and abroad.

His work principles constitute the three ‘Cs’ – Competition, Communication and Conviction. Talking about his leadership skills, Dr. Ramesan chants the mantra of ‘Think global, act local’. Currently his organization strength is 24, which he hopes to scale up to 50-70 in a few years. His advise to the young techies is to think out of box as this is an important factor for a successful leader. Outside work, he enjoys traveling internationally, listening to classical music and spending time with family.
