Sudhakar Rao promoted as National Channels Director, Hitachi Data Systems

“Early to Bed, Early to Rise,” is Sudhakar Rao’s secret of success. This principle keeps him fit and fine, and enabled him to conquer goals successively. He always believed that a good ecosystem in the working place is very essential. Rao says, “Good colleagues and eventually a good team contributes towards building a healthy and challenging ecosystem.”

Hitachi Data Systems India (HDS), an application optimized storage solutions provider and a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd (NYSE: HIT) has promoted Rao as National Channels Director. Rao joined HDS in 2001 as Regional Director of the western region of the company in India. His new responsibilities include enhancing the development of new markets through a 100 percent channel-centric approach. Rao has been instrumental in Hitachi Data Systems’ success in India. He has more than nine years of experience in the storage industry.

Prior to joining Hitachi Data Systems, Rao held positions at IBM and EMC. He persued Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics from Swami Vivekananda Education Society, Mumbai and did a Masters in Business Administration in Marketing from Somaiya Management College, Mumbai.

Xerox India appoints Ravi Venkatraman as Director, Xerox Global Services
In any interaction there is always learning, whether it is correcting a thought process, a new word or a new idea, believes Ravi Venkatraman. This has helped him to keep the myth aside, “To be a successful leader you got to know how to manage your people.” For him, leadership is ‘managing business by agreements.’ “Early in my career I realized that to eat an elephant, you have to have it one bite at a time,” says Venkatraman who has 19 years of industry experience.

Xerox India has appointed Venkatraman as Director for the Xerox Global Services (XGS) division in India. His responsibility is to strengthen the global services division and build partnership with Indian enterprises for managing their documents outsourcing needs. From the period of 1993 to 1998, he worked with Xerox as Regional Product Support Manager.

Prior to the new appointment at Xerox India, Venkatraman was the National Business Manager of CMS Computers. Previously he also worked in various other companies such as ADIC Limited (U.K.), Electrolux and Kelvinator.

Venkatraman is fluent in seven Indian languages besides his mother tongue Tamil that prompted him to write some short stories. He keeps Subramanya Bhartiyar as his source of inspiration and has named his younger daughter as “Bharathi.”

Amitava Roy joins Symphony Services India as President
Amitava Roy has taken over as the President of Symphony Services India succeeding Ajay Kela who has taken a bigger role in the company as the Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer. Roy will oversee the ongoing expansion and development of the company's employee base, service offerings and internal structure. He will be based in Bangalore and report to Kela.

He holds more than a decade's experience in embedded software, high tech and telecom verticals, commercial-grade software domains and enterprise consulting. Previously he was a Senior Corporate Vice President at HCL Technologies. Prior to that Roy was one of the founding members of Hughes Software Systems (now known as Flextronics Software Systems).

He also held the position of Group Manager, Data Communication and Networking Business, Tata Consultancy Services. Roy received his Masters and Bachelors degree in electronics and telecommunications engineering Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India.

Satyam names Sreenidhi Sharma as Sr. VP of IMS
Acquiring a small boutique company and integrating into an organization with entrepreneurial sprit, maintaining the framework and discipline of a big company is the work of Sreenidhi Sharma; popularly know as "Nick". Nick joins, as Senior Vice President for Infrastructure Management Services (IMS) of India's fourth largest consulting and IT services provider Satyam Computer Services Ltd. To be based in Boston, Nick will leverage his experience to build a world-class IMS practice that delivers Internetworking, Next generation networks, application infrastructure services, security infrastructure services and Access management services.

Previously he was the Vice-President and Managing Partner for Infrastructure Transformation Services at Unisys, U.S. At Unisys since 2002, Nick was responsible for leading a 500 strong group. Prior to that he held a number of key management positions at Nortel Networks, Compaq and Digital.

Jiren Parikh joins dotphoto as VP & GM – Wireless
Leading and redirecting the business-especially at young, growing companies-after making the wrong decision at a fork in the road is what Jiren Parikh is more passionate about. Parikh says, "My perseverance and optimistic nature helped me to reach the position where I'm standing today."

Parikh joins as Vice-President and General Manager - Wireless, dotphoto Inc, a privately funded company. dotphoto recently finished series B funding round, and refocused the business on several high-growth opportunities including Wireless. Parikh holds P&L responsibility for company's wireless operations, carrier relationships, program and product management and strategic and content partnerships. With over a decade and a half years of experience he has launched startups, business units and developing revenue globally for technology businesses at various roles.

Previously he headed his own firm, MAP Management, a consulting and interim management practice. Prior to that he held executive roles at Broadbeam, Infonautics (now ProQuest on the NYSE) and Elektroson B.V.
