Wednesday, November 2, 2011
With the world going mobile, it is no longer an option but rather a necessity for enterprises around the globe to leverage the power of mobile devices. Openstream helps enterprises harness this power to intelligently communicate and interact with employees and customers, thus enhancing productivity and increasing brand loyalty. Its Multimodal Technology Platform is based on Context Delivery Architecture (CoDA) and follows the open standards from the W3C and OSGi. Elementary to the company’s approach is the capability to adapt to the delivery and preference context of the users in facilitating interactions that are rich and meaningful.

Openstream, founded in 1997 by Raj Tumuluri, offers a variety of innovative mobile solutions for the enterprises, both in licensed as well as hosted model (usage based). “Our approach has been to keep the end user intelligent without tying them to any particular device or mode of interaction. As such, we endeavour to enable the enterprise to push highly personalized and relevant data to each user while providing the user multi-modal access to services,” says Tumuluri, CEO, Openstream. The company’s Cue-me+Smart Messaging CoDA Platform is the only context-aware multimodal platform, built on open standards, that facilitates single-authoring of rich-mobile applications that can run on all popular mobile phones, PDAs, tablets in the market-place. Using its Eclipse based cue-me studio, enterprises and ISVs can rapidly develop, deploy and manage end-to-end secure mobile solutions that are highly scalable. Applications built using this context-aware technology platform will also allow user-interaction through speech, gesture, type and tap. Applications can be designed to leverage rich context-based interaction and peripheral access and are capable of adapting to the network-connectivity, presence and other ambient conditions.

The company’s clients include several giants from Healthcare, Financial Services, Media & Entertainment, and Utility & Transportation sectors, as well as partner eco-system of third-party application developers and device manufacturers. It also earned Gartner Cool Vendor 2011 distinction for Context Aware Mobile Computing.
