Exciting” is how Anand Kekre reacts on being appointed as the Country Manager of India operations of Reconnex. He sees more fun, more pressure and more scope of innovation in joining a startup that is trying to get a foothold in the country.

Kekre brings with him 13 years of experience in various product initiatives. The most recent being his ten year stint at VERITAS Software (now Symantec) where he held various positions–last being ‘Director of Technology’ for ‘Storage Foundation Business Division’–reporting into the CTO.

With great market opportunities in India for Reconnex, Kekre is in charge of upgrading the company to match up with competitors. This technocrat is ready to take the bull by the horns. “It’s a huge opportunity for someone like me for technology innovation as well as contribution to other business functions,” quips Kekre.

On a lighter note, this IITian wallows in ideas of innovation and is at the moment, deriving inspiration from Sudha Murthi’s book—Wise and Otherwise. Holder of 8 patents, Kekre has more than 50 patent applications pending with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
