The Indian mobile market is at its best times with foreign telecommunication majors extending their Indian operations, and now it's the turn of Nokia Siemens to follow the trend. The company has established a new facility at Oragadam near Chennai, which will have an investment of $70 million for the next three years.

"With its proximity to the local market improving our responsiveness and reducing the carbon footprint of new network deployments, this additional facility epitomizes our global strategy to build a responsible, customer focused business," says Beresford-Wylie, CEO of NSN. This center will distribute mobile communications infrastructure along with radio access products, basically mobile Base Station Controllers, Nokia Siemens Networks Flexi EDGE BTS, Microwave Radio, and Access line-card products, as well as other telecom equipments. The company also has a manufacturing facility in Kolkata, which makes fixed network equipment.
