Raj Metrani’s appointment as the Managing Director happened at a significant time when Pacific Internet is preparing for an aggressive push into the market, Metrani comes with 16 years of experience in information technology and telco industries. His last stint as the Director of Operations for Cable and Wireless, India, made him realise that “one should listen to the customers needs and learn to go against the grind.”

Metrani also carried the responsibility of building the business services team on the sales of managed bandwidth, network integration and call centre solutions. He was responsible for off-shoring major business from UK to India for C&W. Thus, increasing the revenue from $1 million (Rs. 4.4 crores) to $10.8 million (Rs. 48 crores) in four years.

Prior to his time at Cable & Wireless, Metrani successfully held key roles in Business Development, Sales, Channel Management and Marketing operations at Motorola and ASCOM, a wireless solutions company.

Little known fact about Metrani is that, he started his own company, but later closed it down due to lack of funds.
