Since 1995, New York based IIT Inc.has positioned itself as a leading IT Professional Services provider. The firm was founded by Dinesh Gulati who came to the U.S. 29 years back to study Computer Science at a University in New York. Before founding IIT, Dinesh worked in the IT field with companies like JP Morgan and Sbarro.

In an exclusive interview with siliconindia, Dinesh talks about how IIT has positioned itself in the market place.

How is IIT positioned in the current market?
IIT has been focused on helping our Government and Fortune-1000 Clients with the right sized IT Services Delivery Model. Options available to our clients include Project-Based Outsourcing, Staff Augmentation, MSP and RPO Services. IIT is among the top 2 vendors with several of our key strategic clients. Our local presence close to our customers and our offshore delivery centers in India assures our clients in-person service, with cost savings resulting from utilizing onshore-offshore combination model.

Can you talk about IIT's growth?
IIT has grown at an average of 300 percent over the last few years. IIT is a recipient of awards like Inc. 500 and Ernst & Young / USPAACC Fast-50. IIT ranked #1 on the Inc. 500 list, among mid-size companies in IT Services sector in the Northeast US

What are the pain points addressed by IIT?
One well-publicized pain is shortage of availability of qualified IT staff. We address these needs combined with stellar service and efficient processes. Our partnership with Oracle and IBM provides us access to their resources, and creates opportunities for us to work jointly on client projects.

What are the differentiating factors that set IIT apart from its competitors?
One of the reasons our clients chose IIT is that we are a mid-size firm with local presence. We combine strengths of larger vendors, without weaknesses of a small firm. Our clients rely on our established infrastructure, mature processes, financial strength, responsive SLAs, quick turnaround and friendly service.
Another differentiating factor is our corporate ethics and culture. All our staff adheres to highest standards of integrity. Additionally, we are always innovating and tweaking our processes to create additional efficiencies.

Who are your biggest clients and where do you see the most traction?
Our biggest clients are government agencies. While public sector provides substantial portion of our current revenues, we expect this to grow around 30 percent in the next 12 months, whereas we anticipate 100% growth in the private sector.

What is the road map ahead of the company?
We expect to enter new geographic markets, and anticipate making strategic acquisitions. We have set a target of having 1,200 IT Consultants engaged on client projects in the next three years.

What are you most proud of?
Managing and coaching my twin sons' little league baseball teams, trying to instill values of being a team player. I am proud of my father who went back to law school for a Master's degree at the age of 70, and am very pleased of how all of my kids have turned out. And I am proud of our IIT team for all their talent and hard work.
