With plans to re-architect its business for sustained profitability, AMD has appointed Dasaradha Gude, fondly known as ‘GD’, as the Managing Director for AMD India. GD brings with him more than 25 years of experience in the VLSI domain spanning various entrepreneurial roles and most recently as the Managing Director of AMD’s R&D center at Hyderabad. Here he was also instrumental in establishing AMD’s ‘Centre of Excellence for Audio Technology’.

“Since its inception AMD India and has turned out to be a critical contributor to the product roadmap of the company. My primary focus is to take our engineering activities in India for all product lines to greater heights.” He strong believes in free competitive environment so that the industry is driven to create technology that really works for people.

Always working towards creating a fairly open and non-hierarchal management system, he feels that it is important for a leader to share knowledge and experience with others, so that everybody feels empowered and equally committed to the company.

When not driving the company’s India activities, GD involves himself in some of the company’s initiatives. “AMD with its aim to empower people has the 50x15 initiative to develop new technologies and solutions that will help enable affordable Internet access and computing. I actively involve myself in this and try to work towards providing state of the art infrastructure to underprivileged students,” he explains.
