Entrepreneurship The Indian View
Harvi Sachar
Thursday, May 7, 2009
In this issue, we bring you inspirational stories of 12 Indian entrepreneurs and their companies. We had set about trying to showcase the 10 most promising tech companies in the U.S.

It was not a popularity contest, so no voting or attempt by companies
to sell themselves to us was allowed; it was an effort by our editorial staff with the help of several VCs, corporate executives, and experienced entrepreneurs to showcase 10 private technology companies in the U.S., which we think are most likely to be the
game changers.

Amongst all startups Intelius, founded by Infospace-famed Naveen Jain stood out. The company is thriving with a totally new business model for Internet companies. Though founded in 2003, with over 120 million dollars a year of revenue the company has moved beyond being just a startup. The story is about a successful
serial entrepreneur who could be the next game changer and more importantly, some of his unique views on entrepreneurship
are presented.

Navin Chaddha of Mayfield, ranked as #10 and #11 dealmaker in 2008 and 2009 respectively by Forbes Midas list, is a three time
successful entrepreneur. A gold medallist from IIT Delhi, Chaddha has been the youngest India born VC to be in the Forbes Midas list. In an informal poll conducted by SiliconIndia Chaddha
was ranked as #1 VC in the U.S., with whom Indian entrepreneurs would like to work.

We had deep discussions with as many as 50 U.S. based Indian entrepreneurs while producing this issue. The hallmark of all these entrepreneurs is a great passion for their startups and long-term commitment. We wish them all good luck and hope for great success ahead.

Hope, you enjoy reading and make the most out of this issue. As usual, please keep your feedback and comments coming.
