Microsoft launches digital advertising platform
Embarking on an effort to simplify digital advertising, Microsoft has launched a digital advertising platform in India. The platform will help create a larger ecosystem connecting advertisers and publishers in the country.
As part of the new initiative, Microsoft joined hands with four leading publishers - Bollywood Hungama, Equity Master, HDFC Sec, and Facebook. The IT major also launched its video advertisement

platform with MSN Video and its mobile advertising initiative. Microsoft will provide display, rich media, contextual and video
advertising solutions to partners on the platform.

NetMagic plans to embark on an expansion drive
NetMagic Solutions, India’s carrier neutral managed IT service provider, is planning a $25 million global expansion drive. The company has already received a combined investment of $20 million from Fidelity International (FIL) and Nexus India Capital. The remaining $5 million will be raised internally.

Sharad Sanghi, CEO and Managing Director of the company, said that the expansion would focus more on India by establishing data centers in the cities like Delhi, Chennai, and Bombay. Headquartered in Mumbai with a headcount of 250, NetMagic also plans to utilize the funding to acquire rivals that focus on managed hosting.

Cable & Wireless set for growth in India
Cable & Wireless, an international communications company, has received national and international long distance licenses from the Department of Telecommunications. The licenses enable the company to offer services directly to customers in India through its joint venture company Cable & Wireless Networks India.

Cable & Wireless has also rolled out its next generation network (NGN) across the country, which will provide Indian customers the benefits of improved reliability, availability, and performance.

Mindteck acquires Infotech Consulting
The IT services company Mindteck has acquired Infotech Consulting, a multi disciplined technology service firm based in Pennsylvania. The acquisition, valued at $21 million revenue, is the first in a series of four planned by Mindteck as part of its growth strategy called ‘Go Global’. The company has already raised $7.2 million through private equity shares to implement its growth strategy.

Around 90 percent of Mindteck’s total revenue is generated from the U.S. market. The acquisition will help the company solidify its market position in the U.S. Headquartered in Bangalore Mindteck has 1000 employees globally.

ThoughtWorks opens center in Chennai
ThoughtWorks is on an expansion spree in India. The U.S. based information technology consultancy provider has opened a development center in Chennai. The company has already set up centers in Bangalore and Pune.

The new center will employ around 75 professionals in the next six to eight months. The company has around 270 employees across the country and it plans to ramp up the number to 350 by the end of the year.
ThoughtWorks offers services and products spanning the entire software development lifecycle, ranging from the birth of an idea to its implementation.

Sierra Atlantic’s new campus in the City of Pearls
Sierra Atlantic, the California based IT solutions provider, has opened its new campus in Hyderabad. The company has invested $14 million in the state-of-the art campus that is equipped with modern facilities coupled with the latest technology and ergonomics. The first phase of the campus has a total built-up area of 200,000 square feet and will accommodate 1,500 employees. The second phase, covering a built-up area of 350,000 square feet, is planned to accommodate an additional 3,500 employees.

The campus will have facilities including modular workspaces with breakout areas, an expansive cafeteria, a modern gymnasium, tennis and basketball courts, a cricket pitch, and internal landscaped atriums.
