Alexander Varghese has donned a new role as the India Country head of UST Global and will now be responsible for managing the UST development centers in Trivandrum, Kochi, Chennai and Bangalore; with focus on people and process management as well as compliance.

A mechanical engineer with Masters in Production Engineering, Varghese joined UST in 2003 and was most recently the head of UST’s Trivandrum center. He started his career with HMT and considers this as one of the best places he worked at because not only were the entrants given an in-depth technical training but also encouraged to learn management lessons at IIM. With more than 22 years of experience in managing overseas clients and operations for global enterprises, prior to UST, Varghese held senior leadership positions at several IT consulting companies in the U.S., Japan, Australia, Europe and India.

In his current role he will look forward to drive his associates (employees at UST India) to ensure the continuing value to customer with humanity and integrity. “I believe a good customer response if a self motivational factor for one’s resources, energizes them to deliver better every time,” says Varghese. With 4500 associates working under him across the company’s three development centers in India, he believes in empowering people, creating a fearless work environment and allowing them to interact with end customers directly.

Outside work, Varghese is an ardent tennis players and plays thrice a week with his son and colleagues. He also enjoys driving and often goes on long trips with his family when ever time permits.
