Chalking plans
ST Team
Saturday, March 31, 2007
As the new Vice President and Managing Director of EMC Corporation, Arumugam Sarvanan has already chalked out his plans for the company. “Our aim is to expand EMC’s market presence and with the help of local subsidiaries, leverage our assets.” He insists on having a world-class support system to achieve that end.
Sarvanan notes that having people with right skill set and attitude is necessary as it helps in aligning with the organization’s purpose. The aim is to be a peer team that is predictable and acknowledged as one by their US counterparts.
Sarvanan brings with him ten years of experience from Microsoft where he served as the Managing Director of global services (India) and was involved in setting up various operations in India.
In EMC, he hopes to incubate better ideas and use his skills in scaling the company’s portfolio in the global market. In this new role, Saravanan will also partner with Manoj Chugh, President of EMC India & SAARC region, to incorporate information infrastructure needs into EMC’s local technology development efforts.
