J Ramachandran in his 19 years of professional experience has led IT Services engagements of truly international nature, managing diverse international teams delivering value for customers from almost all geographies. The fact that his customer range from Fortune 5, many Fortune 500s and to start-ups talks of a well rounded portfolio management experience. He returned to India after living in U.S. for over 11 years where he was with IBM Global Services. Recently he has taken over as the CEO of Birlasoft. Prior to this he was the Chief Delivery Officer and Senior Vice President at Birlasoft and handled global sales and delivery. In his new role he aims to set apart Birlasoft from other companies with differentiated offerings.

He believes in the collective wisdom of teams and the strength of flawless execution. His people management skills have won him leadership award as ‘The Best People Manager’ in his previous companies. This made him adopt his people focused management style as his DNA. His advice to young professionals is unless you create differentiating skills for yourself, you will become a commodity which cannot demand any unique value in the market place.

Despite being in the U.S. for long years, his passion for cricket and South Indian Classical Music did not loose its’ lustre.When in U.S. he played for many clubs as an opening bowler and has won several awards too His leisure hours are spent on these passions and playing “Wii” with his family. He also helps the social cause of helping children with financial aid for their studies, since he believes education is the best gift that one could give to these unfortunate children.
