siliconindia | | October 20168EditorialSagaya ChristurajManaging Editoreditor@siliconindia.comOnce again, it is that exciting time of the year--the much-awaited si100 issue is here. Hailing and saluting the continuing rise and glory of the Indian entrepreneurs in tech industry in the U.S., we are proud to release the 19th annual si100 list. No doubt, Indians have thrived in America. They make up about a percent of the country's population. History would not be complete without the Indian Diaspora--Pulitzer Prize-winning novelists, high-profile CEOs, and even the spelling bee champions. In the tech world, from the times of mainframes, and computers, to this era of the cloud and big data, nothing has stopped the Indian entrepreneurs from making it big. They have been instrumental in having founded more than one in eight Silicon Valley startups.Meanwhile, the question does arise as to why they have been so successful amongst all other immigrant communities in the U.S. The Indian-American community does owe its success spree to the talent and hard work it brings innately. For native Indians in their homeland, maybe the reason would zero down to the idea that is the U.S. itself--a country built on respect for merit, free enterprise, and individual rights. A large chunk of these immigrants also included the members of the preliberalization private sector, which was then dominated by family-owned businesses and facilitated meager advancement opportunities for graduates. All that said, we at siliconindia are proud of these folks, especially the entrepreneurs for their continued leadership, and dedication in building their companies. Each entrepreneur on the si100 list holds the promise to succeed in tackling the current economic conditions. A distinguished panel comprising of accomplished Indian CEOs and CIOs of public companies, VCs, analysts, founders of other VC funded companies and siliconindia's editorial board has chosen the top 100 companies. We congratulate the 100 firms for achieving this vote of respect from industry leaders and wish every one of them a great future. The Continuing Saga of Success Editor-in-Chief Harvi Sachar Managing Editor Christo Jacob Editorial Staff Anamika Sahu Dylan D'Souza Mewanshwa Kharshiing Rachita Sharma Sandeep Sen Sagaya Christuraj Sudhakar Singh Vignesh Anantharaj Sr.Visualiser Ashok kumar Circulation Manager Magendran Perumal Mailing AddressSiliconIndia Inc44790 S.
