Guiding young entrepreneurs

Helping and mentoring young entrepreneurs has always been an area of interest for R. Ramaraj, who now dons the role of mentoring a group of ‘outstanding’ technologists at Guruji.com.
With Internet users in India starting to grow rapidly, local language content and local search will be a pressing need. His responsibility is help build a successful Internet company in all aspects.
“Internet entrepreneurs should have the faith in themselves and in the business model. Staying focussed and keeping the team motivated is a necessary especially in moments of crisis. Also the task of retaining investors and other stakeholders is huge,” says Ramaraj, the co-founder and ex-CEO of Sify.
An IIM alumnus from Calcutta, Ramaraj has received many awards, his most prominent being the ‘Evangelist of the Year’ at the India Internet World Convention in September 2000.
