Robin Purohit led Big Data Startup Clustrix raises $6.75 Million

The six-year old startup Clustrix has raised $6.75 Million led by the existing investors Sequoia Capital, USVP and ATA Ventures in series C round of funding. The funding is going to be used to aggressively build out the Clustrix sales force. Earlier, the company succeeded in raising $18.8 million in various rounds of funding led by Y Combinator, U.S. Venture Partners, Sequoia Capital and ATA Ventures.

Led by Robin Purohit, Clustrix was founded in 2006 and is headquartered in San Francisco and branch offices in Seattle and London. It lately opened its office at Amsterdam, Europe. At Clustrix, the user gets a single instance Database that is a drop-in replacement for his MySQL infrastructure. The appliances at Clustrix have no limits to database size, no limits to complexity and there is provision of online scaling, relational and transactional capabilities. Two years ago it launched a proprietary database appliance that provides SQL database at limitless scale.

Some of the clienteles of the company includes photobox, The Ladders, makemytrip.com, MASSIVE MEDIA, iOffer, Symantec, EMBL, among several others.
