Esencia has introduced EScala Design Platform, which is the latest addition to the company\'s portfolio of specialized IP. \"EScala is a configurable VLIW DSP platform that generates correct sequencer control logic in Verilog,\" says Reddy. \"It is used in tandem with Esencia\'s MetaModules data path synthesis, to synthesize computationally and algorithmically complex integrated circuits.\" EScala Design Platform builds a team with powerful tools and experience for the system designers and managers who are building advanced networking, video and wireless systems and chips. One of Esencia\'s customers, a huge internet company had a vision to stay ahead in the race against a number of competitors who were working on primitive video-based gesture and facial recognition chips. The customer wanted to leverage radar instead of Charge-coupled Device (CCD). The customer recognized Esencia\'s proven track record building multi-dimensional DSP wireless chips and approached the company. In less than six months, Esencia built three teams:the EScala Team and the MetaModules teambuilt the sequencer control logic and the data path DSP, while in parallel, the Platform team that built the prototype and successfully taped out.
