A simple yet apt definition of synergy is when several different parts come together to make a whole that is significantly bigger than just the sum of those parts. Precisely this encompasses the story of the formation of Eblitz Creations – an event management and integrated marketing company. Three friends with common interests, a common vision and the ability to dream big - Michael N Babu (well known as Mac), Mirza L Baig and Michael G Prasad (well known as Mike) - were working in different corporate houses until destiny brought the three musketeers together to pursue their passion as a profession and thrive in the events industry.


Established in 1999, Bangalore-based Eblitz was bootstrapped with a few thousand rupees, but eventually grew to a multi-million-rupeeentity in a short span of time. Today, the company executes out-of-the-box ideas with perfection and has become more than just an event management company.Eblitz has over 4000 events to their credit in areas of Brand Building, Brand Launches, Conferences & Seminars, Reward &Recognition Events, Employee Engagement, Family Days, Exhibitions, B2B& B2C Events.


The plethora of experience empowers the company to create \'LIVE MOVIES\' with \'EXCELLENT EXECUTION\' and great ROI (return of investments) for the customers. Events don\'t have retakes like movies, so the trio is quite particular when it comes to perfection. The company has created dedicated teams for every brand which help them custom make historic colossal eventspan India with their unique event solutions. Detailed work order, strict time schedules, pre-event check-ups, dry runs of equipment, necessary back-up, mini-office setup at the venue, and several other factors makes Eblitz the king in the realm and a brand to rely upon to get that exotic stress-free experience imbued with artistic strokes. This wealth of experience only gave them a platform to explore international markets and they have been creating historic global events ever since.


The TRIO AFICIONADOS and their AUGMENTING EFFICIENCIES


\"Very few people get the opportunity to live their passion. We were fortunate enough to turn the wind in our favor and make it large,\" reminisces a proud Mirza, Director & Co-Founder, Eblitz. But as Rome wasn\'t built in a day, so wasn\'t Eblitz. Though the trio has always dreamt of doing large events, they knew that it is more important to be with the corporates to understand their functionality and then join hands to do events.Years of experience working for corporates augmented their efficacyand understanding of the intricacies of working with them. Cut to the present, the multi-talented aficionados have taken individual responsibilities for smooth growth of the organization. While Mike handles end-to-end operations, Mac takes care of finance, and Mirza looks after the business development.


A decade and a half back, the events industry was ostracized and investors were reluctant to put their faith and money into the company. The biggest challenge however, was getting skilled manpower thatcould add value and take Eblitz to new heights. These factors put duress on them to heft and scale quickly to be at par with the existing giants of the kingdom. The trio had the potential to turn the table in their favor and soon a company that started in a coffee shop grew by leaps and bounds and currently employs over 55 superlatively skilled employees. \"Way back in the 90s, convincing our parents and potential employees to make them understand that events is much more than a fashion show and dance party was quite a task. But today, people understand that event management is beyond this and has enlarged itself to offer branding solutions which is an extended arm of an advertising company,\" says Mac, Director & Co-Founder, Eblitz.


Over the years, the company has successfully sharpened its edge to provide some brilliant events. \"Our mantra is, don\'t ever have a mantra,\" adds Mike. The teams always put their best foot forward and take necessary steps to put steel into the spine of each event after having a brain storming session with the clients. Their success stories soon brought a gamut of high profile clients to them and currently the company serves over 60 clients and delivers over 300 extravagant events each year.


While today Eblitz is riding high on its success quotient and selects the clients they want to work with, the case wasn\'t the same during their initial days. Eblitz had to take assignments as and when they came to them to establish a foot in the industry. But soon with their ability to execute things with perfection, each event was picturesque and is remembered till date. After excelling in events, the company has extended their wings to offer holistic advertising solutions to their clients and has transformed into an integrated marketing services organization.


The company is more of a packaged organization with brand extensions such as \"Inline Production\" that manages the end-to-end production support;the in-house production unit engulfs the intricacies and delivers the best experience to consumers. \"Printz\" manages all the printing needs and \"MPro\" takes AV (audio visuals) to the next level. Each division champions its core competencies which helps Eblitz add value and provide a competitive edge to their customers, which is indeed a challenge these days as every event is pitched for by various event agencies.


With large focus on IT and BPO segments, Eblitz executes their annual events and conferences that take place across the globe along with brand led markets. Last December, the company meticulously planned and implemented one of the biggest conferences internationally in the city of entertainment, Las Vegas for an Indian brand. They had a team of 350 people flying into Las Vegas from across the globe and Eblitz was given the proprietorship & responsibility of Concept, Design, Execution, Travel, and so on. It definitely wasn\'t just a one off opportunity, as the team envisions a future planning and executing conference solutions for clientsin countries such as the U.S, Europe, South East Asia and the Middle East.


Eblitz is one of the first companies to have an extensive creative team that caters to the needs of its clients. With inclusions such visual effects and special effects, the company has worked on creating videos for brands both in India and abroad. MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) are yet another growing interest area for event companies and Eblitz has mastered the art here as well.


On other lines, Eblitz does large-scale weddings, which are more of an inter-personal relationship building for the clients. \"When it comes to weddings, your functionality becomes different as you get to deal with individuals who are high on emotions,\" says Mac. Thus elating customers becomes a tough task and who better knows to crack the nut than Eblitz?


Creating Brand PERSONA


The event management industry is expected to touch Rs.5, 000 crore by 2015. Having said this, Eblitz is witnessing 30 percent increase in business size year-on-year. The 15-year old company has over a decade of experience in creating Intellectual Properties for its clients. Eblitz has been associated with brands like Bacardi Blast, India Technology Awards, Viacom for film award functions, local television ETV for ETV Sangeet Sammana and ETV Anubandha Awards, MTV Aquanoon, which was a noon pool party, and Kingfisher Livewire during IPL among 50 other brands to create IPs. Currently, the company is working towards creating another IP for the BPO segment and is also working with the existing customers to create new projects. However, they recently shifted their focus to create their own IP events and one will soon see Eblitz organize them.


The company envisions getting into brand extensions, which will help them from the perspective of having sustainability in the market in the long run along with control. \"Five years ago, our dependability on the sub-vendors was comparatively high. But today, the sub-vendors who are working with us are the brand extensions of Eblitz itself. We aim to have all entities within ourselves which will provide us an edge over the rest for quality control and cost advantage,\" says Mirza.


Eblitz believes that it is not viable to create your own persona if you ignore the most important element of the organization – Employees. Thus the company is not just a system driven but people driven company. With experienced top and senior management on board, Eblitz has always been attracting top talents in the event industry and the testimony to this are the employees who have stayed with the company for over a decade. Around half of the employee strength has been with the company for over five years. Eblitz deem that to entertain others, they first have to entertain themselves and hence, organize various activities which include team lunch, team outings, and parties. Weekly activities, monthly outings, and annual off-sites are a part of their HR policy. Not only are the employees made to feel special, but their familiestoo who arealso invited to their annual day celebrations. \"This makes employees feel special and as a part of the family called Eblitz hence, attracting a huge pool of fresh talent who are eager to make a career in this industry,\" comments Mike.


A big NO to AWARDS but YES to EFFORTS


For Eblitz what matters most is their clients’ satisfaction and not the third party recognition for their work and efforts. They believe that no one can be a better judge of their work than the clients themselves. “Our clients believe in us. People don’t give us work on the basis of trophies but for the professionalism, the way we reciprocate to our clients, creativity, and eventually our execution skills. We know whom we have to cater to and thus we provide the right fit. This has made them our advocates since we first did business together and thus references are something that happen by default,” say the three musketeers.


As an organization, Eblitz does not want to be recognized only in India but over the next couple of years, they want to be recognized internationally. Currently, they function from Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore and are soon going to launch their office in Goa as well. As there is a limitation of event management companies in Goa who provide quality services, Eblitz believes it is the right time to venture into the Goan market.
