GIGABYTE Technology: Pioneering the Motherboard Industry

Date:   Wednesday , January 28, 2015

For buyers planning on configuring a computer, a motherboard can be perplexing and at the same time a frustrating decision. Nowadays, users are looking for motherboards that deliver high power efficiency, low system temperature, supreme overclocking ability and long lifespan components at one go. To adhere to such needs, GIGABYTE motherboards with its unique Ultra Durable technology came into being in the year 2006. The Ultra Durable technology made significant advancement by addressing and tackling the prime concerns of the average Indian PC users humidity, high temperature, power failures and static electricity. To keep the pot boiling further in a rapidly changing world, GIGABYTE cropped up with GIGABYTE DualBIOS, an exclusive technology in the motherboard with \'Main BIOS\' and \'Backup BIOS\' that protects from BIOS failure.

Counting assorted products to the never ending list, the company turn up with its latest 9 series motherboards, which completely redesigned the heat sink components to ensure power efficiency. GIGABYE 9 Series gaming motherboards are the only DiY motherboards providing 4-way SLI and 4-way CrossFire extreme graphic card support with audio OP-AMP technology. In addition, the 9 Series Overclocking (OC) motherboards with a unique feature named GIGABYTE OC Touch including a range of hardware OC buttons directly on the motherboard, make overclocking on the fly extremely fast and easy. \"In our 9 Series motherboards, we are using a newly designed hardware setup supported with completely redesigned GIGABYTE APP Centre software that gives you an easy access to a wide range of apps that help you get the most from your GIGABYTE motherboard,\" says Sunil Grewal, Director Sales and MarCom, GIGABYTE Technology. Thus, GIGABYTE with a wide spectrum of offerings has become the most pioneered and trusted brand in the motherboard industry.

\"As far as the Indian market is concerned, we expect a stable demand for assembled systems in the future with the DiY market close to around 17 million. As the PC penetration level in India is still around 6-7 percent, we see Class B and C cities as growth drivers for DiY PCs,\" adds Sunil.

The company have been setting and patenting multiple quality standards every year, such as 24 Phase Power VRM, 2oz Copper PCB, Dynamic Phase Power Switching Energy Saving Technology, All Solid Capacitor, and TouchBIOS, Power Stage IC, to name a few. This has helped push the rest of the industry to adopt many of the same high-quality standards the company pioneered. Thus, GIGABYTE builds up a full range digital life responding expeditiously and sonorously to customer needs and desires and will soon be launching the GIGABYTE Brix range of mini form factor PC kits in India.

Highly acknowledged for its award winning motherboards, GIGABYTE has been climbing the success ladder since its inception in 1986. The brand is positioned as either No. 1 or 2 in most the regions except U.S. because Intel dominated the market. But with Intel quitting the motherboard, left behind immense opportunity for this 28 year old company to be the market leader. GIGABYTE in full swing with wide range of offerings established a strong brand image in U.S. market as well.

The Marketing Strategy

Like every growing business, GIGABYTE as components business too faced the crunches of availability of refurbished CPU, which invariably results in delaying the process of shifting to next generation CPUs. This also made the quality of components more vulnerable. But, to cope up with this challenge, the company increased their sales and marketing initiatives in Tier II regions comprising mostly Class C and D cities. \"We believe the DiY markets are yet to be properly tapped by PC component vendors in spite of the growth of demand, and of tech-savvy end-users thereof,\" he adds. The sales staff comprising Area Sales Managers (ASMs) and Zonal Managers engaged closely with partners almost on a daily basis focusing more on T2 partners (Value Partners) for demand and lead generation.

Not leaving any stone unturned, the company took marketing initiatives by advertising in premier PC & channels magazines and also ensured that their products are reviewed regularly by the review specialist media and power users. To enhance the brand awareness among the end-users, GIGABYTE has recently started investing in outdoor media advertising and making huge investment in R&D as well. Further, to keep the ball rolling, the company initiated shop decoration & shop branding at reseller outlets for its high-end products, supported gaming events, fests and events of leading engineering colleges and increased their presence on Facebook and other popular online Tech Forums.
Accentuated by four strong pillars of organization culture team work, transparency, smooth information flow and integrity, GIGABYTE provides a terrific work environment, encouraging and supporting employees to excel in their professional and personal goals. The company maintains a positive work-place ethics by ensuring merit based promotions and sharing of responsibilities. The team is engaged in raising the bar in post sales service efficiency by opening a state-of-the-art, expansive service centres in major IT hubs across India, of which the Mumbai centre is already functional.
