The Wisdom of Angels

Mobikon was founded by Samir Khadepaun in late 2008, the most catastrophic era for Tech industry. As this made the funding mission impossible, Mobikon took initial funding from co-founder Salil Khamkar\'s family to survive and build their product platform. Mobikon\'s bold and innovative idea also grabbed the attention of Samir\'s college alumni and angel investors like Shashikant Chaudhary and Vikas Kumar. Angels also bestowed Mobikon with a lot of wisdom and steered the company\'s focus on the product platform and hospitality vertical, since Mobikon had initial traction and confidence to disrupt the vertical. Mobikon\'s initial struggle for cash taught the company to focus on less people and more leadership. Adopting the culture of empowering individuals aided Mobikon to grow from 12 people team to 50 people and 4 offices in just 12 months.

As staying focused on one vertical and on their offering had been their key to success, Mobikon always ensured that they don\'t get defocused to attain some short term gains. This allowed the company to raise around $1.7 million in series A round of funding from Jungle Ventures in 2012 and continued investment in subsequent round by existing investors. Jungle Ventures has strong belief in Mobikon\'s vision, thus helped the company scale internationally. \"We started Singapore operations in 2013 to scale S.E Asia. The India team lead by Ketaki Deshmukh and Vinay Gopinath did an amazing job by scaling the business in India across 3 offices and opening more.
