Vikram Gulati named CEO and President of Intelligroup, Inc

Vikram Gulati recently took over as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Intelligroup, Inc., headquartered in New Jersey, USA. Intelligroup is a strategic global IT consulting and outsourcing partner that helps large companies world-wide drive business results from enterprise applications, and specializes as a provider of Application Development, Implementation and Support services.

Gulati brings to Intelligroup over 17 years of experience in the industry. He has held several positions with Wipro Ltd. including, most recently, as the head of Wipro’s global Enterprise Application Solutions Group, where he was responsible for growing Wipro’s worldwide ERP practice from an annualized business of $20 million in revenue to $160 million in revenue over four years, delivered by 2700 professionals across 16 countries.

Vineet Nayar is President of HCL Technologies

Ranked as one of ‘India’s Hottest Young Achievers’ by Business Today in 2002 and nominated for Global IT services company, providing software based IT solutions, BPO and Remote Infrastructure Management services HCL Technologies, as the 4th best employer to work for in India according to BT-TNS Mercer survey in 2005 is no lean achievement. The architect for both is present President of HCL, Vineet Nayar.

He will be responsible for HCL’s Software & Infrastructure business accounting for 86 per cent of HCL’s $750 million revenue. Nayar started his career with HCL in 1985 as a management trainee. He holds a MBA from XLRI. He has held diverse portfolios ranging from Sales and Strategic Marketing to being an integral part of building HCL’s business onto a global scale. Nayar attributes the success of HCL in Infrastructure Services Business to the success of his team and the passion they have for what they do.

Vivek Mansingh to steer Dell Software Group in India

Vivek Mansingh, former Managing Director of Portal Information Technology India Pvt. Ltd. has moved to head the Products Software Group of Dell Computers as the Country Manager. The Bangalore, Hyderabad and Mohali centers of Dell are part of a global network of 50 centers that Dell operates. He has 300 people under him and the growth plans are aggressive. Mansingh has published more than 85 technical papers. He graduated with a PhD in Simulation Software and a M.Sc. from Queen’s University, Kingston, Canada. He also underwent the Executive Business Management Program for Growing Companies, Stanford University in 1996.

Vinaya Sathyanarayana joins as Associate General Manager for Software Development, First Indian Corporation

Leadership traits are expressed early. So is the case with Vinaya Sathyanarayana, Associate General Manager for Software Development, First Indian Corporation. First Indian Corporation is the Indian arm of The First American Corporation, a data provider, providing specialized services in Software and BPO/ITES segment for Real Estate Information, Credit & Title Insurance industry.

Prior to First Indian Corporation, Sathyanarayana led the product development and maintenance for Host Access Products and Research at IBM India Software Labs. He holds a B.Tech in Computer Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Surathkal, India; a Diploma in Business Finance and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) from Project Management Institute (PMI).

He is part of select team chartered by the PMI to create the Organizational Project Management Maturity Model (OPM3). He was awarded the President Scout Award by the President of India, Gyani Zail Singh in 1985. This is the highest award recommended by Bharath Scouts and Guides.

Adobe Promotes Naresh Gupta to Senior Vice President

Naresh Gupta is relocating from India to Adobe Systems Incorporated in San Jose, California as Senior Vice President. Gupta will be responsible for identifying emerging technologies and business opportunities for Adobe, a software solutions company specializing in digital content.

Gupta joined Adobe in 1996 as a member of the Corporate Research Group where his work resulted in five patent applications. In 1998 he relocated to India to begin building an Adobe Research and Development Center and became Managing Director for Adobe Systems India Pvt. Ltd. Prior to Adobe, Gupta managed the Applied AI group at LNK Corporation and helped to develop strategic worldwide defense programs. Gupta holds a B. Tech in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India and, a Masters and Ph.D in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, College Park, USA

Murali Natarajan takes over as Intergraph Managing Director

He considers IBM CEO Louis V. Gerstner, Jr as his Manasiga Guru (godfather) and Vedic Management as the mantra for creation of wealth for the country.

Well hold the above thought for Murali Natarajan, appointed as the Managing Director of IT solutions and offshore software outsourcing services, Intergraph Consulting. Before joining Intergraph, Natarajan served as Senior Vice-President, Birlasoft Limited at Noida for about a year. He was given the mandate to help the company move from a geographical based structure to a structure based on Global Line of Business. This process enhanced the quality and productivity of the system.

He has 26 years experience in IT, including stints at IBM and CMC. His tenure over these years has earned him skills in project management including global delivery, financial planning & budgeting, global operations & management, business development and quality management.

Natarajan is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) from Project Management Institute (PMI-USA)

Hitachi Data Systems Appoints Srikant Chakrapani as National Channels Director

Hitachi Data Systems, a storage solutions company and a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi Ltd. has Srikant Chakrapani as National Channels Director, India. Based out of Mumbai he would be responsible for development of channels business in India and increase market share through reach and penetration. Earlier Chakrapani was in charge of business operations in North India - including sales, technical presales for Hitachi Data Systems. Chakrapani joined Hitachi Data Systems in July 2002.

He has 13 years experience including stints at HCL Comnet and Worldwide Technologies. He has held various positions within these companies and was a part of the Executive Council at Worldwide Technologies. Chakrapani holds an Electronics Engineering degree from M.H.S.S. College of Engineering, Mumbai.
