Eiji Kato has been appointed as the new country head for Epson India. With over two decades of experience with Epson, he has played a vital role in expanding Epson in the Asian and the European market. He succeeds Etsuo Fujita who now moves back to Japan to take on new responsibilities. “I am honored to be given the responsibility of taking the Epson brand further in this exciting market. As we step into a new business year, we are faced with a unique challenge that has stretched itself across the globe. At Epson India, we see this challenge as a special opportunity to deliver more to our customers and to enhance the businesses of each of our esteemed partners,” said Kato on his appointment. Seiko-Epson targets to grow by 30 percent in the Indian market in the year 2009-10. The appointment of Kato is a move for realizing the target as he is commended for the success of the Epson products in Europe. A graduate in Ceramic materials from Nagoya Institute of Technology, Japan, Kato had joined Seiko-Epson in 1984 as a chemical engineer in the Corporate Research and Development division, and since then has worked extensively in their multiple businesses like Electronic Devices (ED), Original Equipments Manufacturing (OEM) and Visual Instruments (Projectors).
