During the global economic turmoil of 2009 when several companies were on the verge of closure, Subodh Patil started his third startup Brisa Technologies. Completely fanatical to providing services in the area of embedded system software to their customers in automotive, consumer electronics, storage, media and semiconductor industries, Brisa Technologies has carved a niche for themselves in a short span of four years. Today this Bangalore based company has key Fortune 500 companies as their clients.


"As my previous two startups also catered the EDA/semiconductor space, it was a natural progression towards venturing into the niche space of providing services in the area of embedded system software. I had a clear picture of the market and its requirements and found that software was one of the major differentiator when it comes to embedded system. I started Brisa Technologies to cater this need of the market," says proud Subodh Patil, Founder & Director, Brisa Technologies. The company that started with four engineers today have over 50 engineers who serve clients like Intel Mobile Communications, Dell R&D, Cypress Semiconductors and MontaVista to name a few.

The Initial Defy

During their initial days, Brisa Technologies faced the challenges of attracting key talents and penetrating into big customers. But with their dedicated engineers who went out of the way to help the customers to make projects/programs successful created great success stories that helped the company acquire some big names as their clients. Today, they offer exceptional value to their customers through their highly competent interdisciplinary engagements and delivery teams. Customer satisfaction has always been the top priority for Brisa Technologies since inception. During their early days they were constrained to cater to large project requirements due to usual challenges faced by small businesses. "The big clients wanted to work with smaller companies like us as we pay more focused attention to their requirements and delivery of the project. But the challenge always remained whether we will be able to fulfill their large project requirements," adds Patil. Brisa Technologies created an ecosystem wherein they tied with other small companies and helped each other serve their customers and ultimately grow their business.


He further adds, "In Brisa, we have two most important aspects of business, our customers and our employees. We always ensure to take best care of both for our ultimate growth". From their very establishment day, Brisa Technologies have created an environment of respecting each individual in the company and at the same time providing them with opportunities to learn more than their peers in the industry. They have built an efficient engine that works really fast on addressing the customers' requirements. Their value added services provides more value per dollar for customers. In many cases when required, they went out of their agreement terms and made the projects successful, thereby achieving customer delight. "We always try and see if we can add more value to the customers. When our customers become successful in their projects, we also become successful," explains Patil.

Vision Ahead

Currently based in Bangalore, the company has plans to go global and want to be a $10 million company in next five years. Brisa also plans to grow over 5 times in terms of employee strength. Over the past four years they have built their functions very strong. Even though being a small startup, they focused on building a strong foundation. Today, within Brisa they have all the practices and processes required for fast pace growth. Patil elucidates, "We are poised and waiting for certain parameters to improve in the market to go on fast track growth. Though the major focus will be on embedded systems, we are also open to enter in disruptive technologies".
