FREECULTR to establish itself with a Rs. 21 Crore Funding

With a plan to expand rapidly and be available internationally, FREECULTR, an e-commerce startup for apparel and accessories, has raised around Rs. 21 crore in funding round led by Sequoia Capital. The company plans to invest the fund in developing an in-house design team and a seamless e-commerce platform, in addition to maintaining product inventory and acquiring new talent.

Founded by Sujal Shah, former VP and Head of Fashion, India at IMG; Harish Bahl, Founder and Group CEO of the Smile Group; Sandeep Singh, and Rajesh Narkar just two weeks ago, the company sells its own brand of apparel and accessories online. The site offers a shopping experience with a full range of lifestyle apparel and accessories, featuring casual T-shirts, polo shirts, tunics, sweaters, Cardigans, denims, pants, and footwear for both men and women.

Sujal Shah, who is also the CEO of the company, said that they are integrating e-commerce and fashion to give their consumers best value for money, choice, and a consistently updated product range. He comes with 17 years of experience in leadership, brand management and business execution globally, and specializes in brand strategy, business development, marketing strategy, e-commerce, fashion, lifestyle, retail, operations, event management, customer relationship management, portfolio management and general management.
