SD: Planning before starting any work.

SP: Solving problems for clients. These solutions usually involve writing code.
ST: What do you like about your job?
SP: At ThoughtWorks, developers get respect and I have colleagues with similar interests like literature, biking, and computer games.
ST: What do you find challenging about your job?
SP: Working on complex domains that need the latest technology, also having to work with people who are smarter than me. We are expected to take the initiative to get things done in the best possible way, including keeping up with technology trends and being sufficiently well informed and thus being able to make decisions.
ST: What have you found that makes your job easier?
SP: My colleagues are among the coolest people I have met. According to me they are also among the best analysts and developers in the industry. Committed to open source, everyone has interests and tastes which define them outside of the job - there are Himalayan trekkers, entrepreneurs, bikers, and social activists.
