In a quick interaction with SmartTechie, Alamuri Sitaramaiah, GM –Sales & Marketing, Fluke Networks talks about the rapidly changing Networks space and Fluke Network’s approach to the market and growing needs of the enterprises.

1. What are the trends driving the networking space today?

Increasing Convergence of Data, VoIP and IP-Video applications is an all-encompassing trend. Further, there is an increasing realization to design and implement networks from an application performance and a user-experience perspective. In fact, even networking vendors are moving on to become more than supplying network-plumbing products – switches and routers - to supplying collaboration solutions that leverage underlying networks to enable enterprise’s business processes.

2. What are some of the top networking challenges face by organizations today?

Managements of enterprises are increasingly demanding ROI into investments made into IT Infrastructure and such ROI is being increasingly viewed on how well IT Infrastructure enabled business processes to lower transaction costs, increased customer satisfaction and reach out to customers 24 x 7. Network Managers are hence increasingly called upon to ensure not only the uptime of IT Infrastructure but also on user experience of enterprise applications delivered on the network. Uptime does not assure performance. Hence, network managers are not only being challenged to manage user experience, but to continually improve upon the same as well as reduce mean-time-to-react to problems by managing such issues more proactively.

3. How is Fluke Networks addressing these challenges?

Fluke Networks is bringing solutions that help IT managers to monitor, analyze and troubleshoot application performance problems on the network. Our solutions help customers proactively monitor and reactively troubleshoot issues that limit successful delivery of enterprise applications – Data, VoIP and IP-Video – on enterprise networks. While proactive monitoring solutions help focus on early discovery of problems, reactive troubleshooting tools help quicker root cause analysis and recovery from problems.

4. Can you talk about the latest version of Fluke Network's Network Time Machine?

Fluke Network Time Machine (NTM) v8 is a high-performance appliance for critical link analysis, storage for data forensics and back-in-time troubleshooting of applications on networks. NTM helps overcome performance bottlenecks by leveraging the stream-to-disk capabilities of network traffic captured on multiple 1G and 10G ports for monitoring and troubleshooting multi-tier and multi-segment application flows, using

*Application-centric analysis that automatically analyzes application flows and can drill down to identify the root cause issues

*QoS metrics, statistics and trending charts of application and flow level for buffered and historical data

*Best-in-class, real-time Video/Voice over IP metrics and troubleshooting for enterprise networks

5. How is India as a market for Fluke Networks?

India is a strong, emerging market. While Indian IT managers do not lag behind global IT trends when it comes to deployment of IT for achieving business goals, a lot of market development activity is under way by Fluke Networks in evangelizing the use of right tools to manage the IT infrastructure. As IT Infrastructure management objectives of Indian IT managers are no different from those globally, Fluke Networks has been experiencing a multi-fold growth in acceptance of the tools and in the volume of sales and customer growth in India.

6. The road ahead for Fluke Networks.
Fluke Networks will continue to bring to the market tools that provide the breadth of visibility and depth of analysis to IT managers. Fluke Networks can provide tools to troubleshoot deployed networks, across all the layers of the IP protocol stack – right from physical layer to the application layer.
