Tap the Colossal Opportunities in the Indian IoT Market

SaaS applications don\'t yearn for the deployment of an ample basement at the client\'s location, which eliminates or acutely reduces the upfront charge of resources. With no initial investment to amortize, an organization that deploys a SaaS appliance that turns out to produce disappointing after-effects can walk away and pursue an altered direction, without having to abandon an expensive on-premise infrastructure.

In our world, SaaS allows us to introduce and adopt new features in a much more seamless manner and even if you have to update software or if you have updated devices configured, we can push a new feature instantly. With SaaS, the job of deploying an appliance and befitting it active from day to day testing and installing patches, managing upgrades, ecology performance, ensuring top availability, and so forth is handled by the provider. By appointing these \"overhead\" activities to a third party, the IT administration can focus added on high-value activities that adjust with and support the business goals of the enterprise. Instead of getting primarily reactive and operations-focused, the arch advice administrator (CIO) and IT agents can focus more as technology strategists to the rest of the company, working with business units to accept their business needs and admonish them on how best to use technology to achieve their objectives. Far from getting obsolete by SaaS, the IT administration can contribute to the success of the enterprise value more than ever before.

Making Security & Reliability the Topmost Priority
Being much more cost-effective than traditional system, SaaS has come a long way from being a horizontal application to a application that is very specific to functions akin to human resource management software and expense management software. Unlike five years ago, SaaS is being widely adopted by even financial sectors, as time has shown everyone that cloud is much secure and reliable than on-premise option. Security can be ensured through vigorous IT controls such as password management and two factor authentication. LogMeIn ensures that we pursue the best practices for internal security, where our employees have to use the two factor authentication, which is also available across all our products. As the phishing attacks are much more sophisticated than they were a few years ago we have put in a lot of effort in educating our employees to not click on things that they are not supposed to. Today the connected devices in our daily lives are mobiles and computers. But five years from now, our garbage maybe connected, which will only exacerbate the security vulnerabilities. Hence people need to intelligently adopt best practices to eliminate security issues.

A Land of Cosmic Opportunities
With the Make in India initiative, we emphasize more on IoT, as the IoT space is going to be enormous in the days to come. The Indian IoT market can be tapped via building connected products or through support services to these products, which BPOs and system integrators are geared up to provide. We have made a small acquisition in IoT three years ago and we have kept building on it. Since then, we have been connecting hundreds of devices securely in a pretty massive scale. With the help of our platform – Xively, companies are facilitated to connect with their products remotely.

In India, we would establish partnership with somebody with those companies that we already have very strong ties with; especially those can who provide professional services not just the software, since our software has been pretty much deployed. However, chat maybe an exception. As Big data would require professional services and system integration, we seek both Big Data and actual BI software component and also has professional services to wrap around it. There is a huge opportunity for the BPOs and Systems Integrator sector to expand beyond traditional market in the India. Investing in the Indian market is of significant importance for us, as India is a hub of cosmic opportunities. (As told to Anamika Sahu & Susila Govindaraj)
