Mehta School of Management (SJMSOM) is a public business school and part of Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. The school offers a full-time degree course (Master of Management), doctoral course and Management Development Programs (MDP) for working corporate pertaining to the current industrial trends. These courses are usually sponsored by organizations such as AICTE, ISTE and DSIR. Established in 1995 in the honor of Dr. Shailesh J. Mehta, SJMSOM proffers education and conducts research in leadership, economics, marketing, entrepreneurship, organizational behavior, technology management, operations and strategy. A partnership between SJMSOM and Washington University, U.S. has formulated an Executive MBA Program with a degree valid for Indian and American University as well. This education is enhanced by ‘Avenues’, ‘Consultancy’, ‘Leadership Lecture Series’ and ‘Continuum Series’ where industrial leaders and B-School students come together to discuss and dissect the contemporary business issues. Companies like Deloitte, Cadbury, ICIC Hindustan Lever, Tata Consultancy Service, HSBC and many more have visited the campus with placement offers. Even SJMSOM has offered consultation to organizations like ICICI, The World Bank, Indian Oil Corporation, Geologistics, India, Tata Auto Plastics, Kirloskar Institute of Advanced Management Studies and ICRA. The school has collaborated with Ministry of Human Resource and Development (Government of India), ICICI, Hindustan Lever Ltd, Hindi Vidya Bhavan and Larsen & Toubro Limited to provide a number of scholarships to students for excellence in academics every year. The sprawling IIT campus provides its students with extensive library service, recreational activities and auditorium.
