IT professional Sanjiv Mital, with almost three decades of experience in technology and telecom sectors, has recently been chosen the CEO Designate of National Institute of Smart Government (NISG) in the space of e-governance. He says, “I’m excited to take up this challenging role which involves leveraging the public-private partnership and accelerating the e-governance initiatives.”

Prior to this new role, Mital was the CEO, and later, the Vice Chairman of Comviva (earlier called Bharti Telesoft). Also, he served in senior positions at Tally, Wipro, and IBM, and more recently was actively mentoring companies as part of NASSCOM’s mentorship program. Mital believes that a leader should have clarity of vision for an organization besides being customer focused. He opines that it is essential to carve out ambitious plans and should also be able to achieve them for the growth of the organization.

"Also, it is essential for a leader to nurture the talents in the right manner,” affirms Mital. Holding on to his beliefs, he advises the upcoming techies to expose themselves to technology developments and also to have in-depth knowledge about the technology they use.

Apart from work, Mital loves trekking and playing sports, especially badminton. He is an IIT-Kanpur and IIM-Calcutta alumnus.
