Companies which used to keep IMS services in-house due to data sensitivity issues are now increasingly outsourcing their IMS activities to reduce cost and focus on their core areas. About 40 percent of companies are now outsourcing their IMS services and a growing interest of the same is now seen in Indian companies too. Because of the availability of highly skilled labour, India has gained ground across the world in IT software side; the next logical movement could be in IT hardware and IMS space. With digital convergence and multi-brand scenario more and more of IMS activities will be outsourced to third Party Service Partner’s where the vendors who have skill set for all the above fields will be clear a winner.

inTarvo Technologies, founded in 1995, with offices in all the major Indian cities and service centers in more than 200 cities, is one of India’s largest service provider of Integrated Lifecycle Management (ILM) for technology products. It leverages on its relationships with the fortune 500 companies in IT, CE, Electronic Security and Telecommunications fields to ensure seamless IMS services to its customers. According to the company its ILM expertise can act as a differentiating factor for them in the IMS space. The company promises to take care of the customer requirements end-to-end so that their IMS customer gets seamless service beyond IMS into a complete lifecycle support. This goes from supporting diverse electronic devices for onsite as well as backend support, integrating solutions in IT, CE, electronic security and telecommunication into complex solutions like BMS (Building Management Systems) which integrate these on single platform. And with presence across multiple cities means the company is also uniquely positioned to support large multi-city facilities.

When it comes to competition the company again considers this country wide network as its advantage. According to inTarvo most of the IMS companies across the country are at a regional level or at best with support offices in only the main cities and as it has a country wide office network which comprises of more than 400 offices it enjoys a unique position. By focusing on quality processes, people and continuous skills enhancement the company has managed to retain most of its vendors for the past 15 years.

Like most of the companies in the IT space one of the main challenges that inTarvo faced was the challenge of retaining skilled manpower. The company considers itself to be a cradle for skilled technical manpower in IT, CE, Electronic security and Telecom industries. It has started training institutes under the brand name of iStep. “People continue to be the key element of inTarvo’s success; employee retention is thus our focus. Host of programs are organized to boost the employee morale like an annual festival Aagaman and Little champ. With unique recruitment process of ‘Ek ka Dus’, an internal references program, we have also increased the employee retention.” says Sudheer Puthhiran K, President, Field Services, inTarvo.

After recent slowdown in the IT spending, especially in the corporate segment, the company has plans to enter into value added services. In the coming financial year inTarvo plans to pursue the automation business, e-waste management, global repair centre, installation and repair of high-end switches, medical electronics, networking and storage systems. The company also plans to reach more than 1000 cities in the next 18 months.
