Epson India, the Indian arm of the Japan-based technology company, set a target of Rs. 500 crore turnovers in this fiscal (2010-11). If attained the target, the company would mark a 25 percent increase from last year’s Rs. 400 crore turnover. The company, which celebrated its 20th year in India, provides digital imaging solutions for everyone, including home and office users, photo-professionals and digital labs. Moreover the company is ambitiously getting itself prepared to reach the Rs. 1000 crore mark by 2015.

In the year 1990, the company came to India started a liaison office in Chennai and introduced in the Indian market its Dot Matrix printers. Since then Epson India has grown rapidly and introduced a wide range of products to the Indian market. The products that it markets and supports include Epson dot-matrix printers, inkjet printers, inkjet all-in-ones, laser printers, point of sale printers and systems, scanners, and LCD projectors. Epson dot-matrix printers enjoy a market share of approximately 53 percent, inkjet printers and all in ones have 14 percent while point of sale printers and projectors have 52 percent and 14 percent of market share respectively.

Eying for the Rs.1000 crore mark the company’s focus will be on home & office, education, health, government, SME, retail, and photography segments. It is also planning to pick up the growth pace in its core businesses as well as look for new prospective options to expand into. In the next 3-5 years the company’s main focus will be on programs that have already been initiated. nSolution - the exclusive relationship program for System Integrators and Office Automation specialists and nDimension - the channel development and engagement program for both EAP’s and ECCs are expected to be focus areas.
