IT security threats have always been an issue of concern for CIOs. The problem has amplified since the introduction of neoteric trends in the IT Sector such as mobility and cloud. Hackers are constantly on the prowl to grab enterprise data. So when it comes to incorporating cloud in their daily work operations the CIOs find themselves in a catch – 22 situations.

The world has seen a significant increase in the number of cloud users in 2012 amounting to approximately 61 percent in 2012 as compared to 41 percent in 2011. Around 10 – 12 percent were unperturbed towards cyber security.

Nonetheless, CIOs are reluctant to shift to cloud despite the advantages it offers in terms of cost reduction and flexibility of service.
But with the availability of security measures such as improved physical security, business continuity processes, external audit provider as well as the means to identify management systems it just might prompt the CIOs to think otherwise and move to cloud.
