Online marketplace eBay India has promoted Ambareesh Murty as Country Manager. Murty was earlier Director - Marketing & Operations at eBay India. In his new role, he will lead the eBay portfolio in India, including the eBay India Marketplace and the eBay India Motors Marketplace. Murty has been with eBay India since December 2005, and over the last two years has held a variety of senior executive roles and has been involved with key eBay functions like category management, user experience, payments, customer support, global trade, seller acquisition and marketing.

In the course of his career, Murty worked for over five years as a packaged goods marketer for Cadbury Schweppes with several successful brand initiatives under his belt. He also spent few years with Prudential ICICI as VP-Marketing & Customer Service. He also took time off from corporate life to pursue his own career adventure, setting up a successful financial training and advisory firm in Bangalore. In leisure, Murty closely follows football, loves to read and is taking his baby steps towards becoming a collector of Discworld memorabilia.
