Bangalore based Little Eye Labs Acquired by Facebook

Little Eye Labs, an Indian startup that makes software tools to analyze the performance of Android apps, has been acquired by Facebook. The social media giant acquired the Bangalore based software developing company for an approximated amount of $10-15 million.

"With this acquisition, Little Eye Labs will join forces with Facebook to take its mobile development to the next level," the company said in a statement on its site. "The entire Little Eye Labs team will move to
Facebook's headquarters in Menlo Park, California. From there, we'll be able to leverage Facebook's worldclass infrastructure and help improve performance of their already awesome apps. For us, this is an opportunity
to make an impact on the more than 1 billion people who use Facebook."

The acquisition of Little Eye Labs fits into Facebook's mobile strategy, which has lagged behind rivals like Twitter even though 874 million of its 1.19 billion users (as of September 2013) access the social network primarily via their mobile devices.

Little Eye Labs was founded last year by a group of program analysts who wanted to build better tools for mobile developers and were later backed by GSF and VenturEast Tenet Fund. The company released its official version of Little Eye for Android in early April of last year, and since then it has had many Android developers and testers using Little Eye Labs to measure, analyze, and optimize their app's performance.
