Technology makes life easy and everyone has the right to use it. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi discerned this fact as soon as he came to power and designed a brand new sprinting boot for India to race with the global digital pace–‘Digital India’, quite a cool name. Through this high expectation-project, India anticipates to enable 2.5 lakh villages to get free and fast internet connection. At the same time, in the technology providing backend, this initiative acts a catalyst for organizations to savor enormous opportunities. Wireless Mesh Network technology is a ubiquitous choice for ‘Digital India’, especially when it comes to connecting rural areas of India with high-speed Internet. Thus, having significant technological advantage over many new and established Wireless equipment providers with its international patents, Strix Systems becomes a prime contender in this digitizing India movement. It caters predominantly to large scale Municipal & Public Safety Networks, Rural & Sub-Urban connectivity, Defense & Emergency Services deployments, Wireless Service providers, Industrial deployments, and Transportation Industry, which are the inevitable targets of mission Digital India.

A Historical Journey through Quality

Strix came into existence in the year 2000 when Wi-Fi technology was at its infancy and large semiconductor companies like Intel and others were still pushing it to become mainstream. At this point in time, the company started to conceptualize technology & products for building Wi-Fi Mesh with auto-discovering, self-configuring, self-optimizing and self-healing features. Several years later, an Indian private equity firm purchased this technology and company in 2008, and started transferring operations to India as it foresaw a bright boom ahead. However, it was an uphill battle in our subcontinent to explain internet service providers that they can use and leverage Wi-Fi technology for building and operating large outdoor wired-equivalent Mesh networks, instead of investing in expensive wired technology. But, India soon hosted a wireless technology boom as combined result of telecommunication industry growth and smartphone revolution, which made the path hassle free for the company.

This sudden shift enabled Strix to focus on its offerings and products with features such as high capacity, large number of user access, large area coverage, high reliability, low installation & operation cost and easy upgradation to new technologies. In addition, the advantages associated with ‘Made-in-India’ factor also came along (such as quick repair/maintenance, support, and localized customization & development support). Strix today has the capability to set up large area outdoor Wi-Fi Mesh networks with multiple dual-band & high-power radios in an industrial grade and robust & proven hardware which ensure high coverage. These fully resilient MESH networks, which currently have a widespread in India post a dozen years of deployment history and expertise, are integrated by a patented and matured software which ensures high capacity, uninterrupted performance, high speed roaming (at speeds of well over 100 kmph) and reliable & rugged wireless network with low latencies. Even though proffering these world class features, the company is successful in bestowing wired-equivalent mesh network with lowest mesh-tax and extremely low overall cost.
