Tata Sky did not simply mention, "We plan to use Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform as a standard middleware platform for our critical applications". There is a whole story of collaboration, profit and happy partnership with Red Hat that elated him to speak these words. It was when Tata Sky incurred heavy experiences due to its critical Electronic Voucher Distribution (EVD) application running on a priority middle platform that was expensive, owing to high license maintenance and support costs. As the existing platform reached end-of-life and needed a version upgrade, Tata Sky decide to replace the priority platform with Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform. The migration helped Tata Sky to reduce the TCO of the EVD application by 75 percent, whilst improving the performance significantly and turnaround time for the recharging process was reduced. And hence, Tata Sky decided to use the platform as a standard middleware platform for all of its applications.

This is just one success saga. When you drill down further, you can easily find 100 percent of Fortune 500 companies in the industries from airlines, commercial banks, healthcare and telecom sectors as Red Hat's (NYSE: RHT, current market capitalization of $13.83 billion) elated customers. The CIOs and IT departments from around the world rely on Red Hat to deliver solutions that provide technology leadership, performance, security and unmatched value. But as Rome was not built in a day, so was Red Hat's expertise. The company acts as a connective hub in a global network of customers, partners, research and academic organizations and open source communities. Bringing these innovative groups together fosters collaboration. And with a wide range of computing requirements, distinct approaches and differing skills, the result is technology that meets the needs of today's computing environment more effectively than any one group could have created alone.

Red Hat delivers its technology solutions to customers in two ways: offering commercial products for demanding environments, and sponsoring freely available open source projects. "In our view, open, hybrid technology is the future of IT. The operating system for the cloud is open source. Hybrid IT is a reality in every organization, and ultimately, open technology provides control over the trends of today as well as the future," says Rajesh Rege, Managing Director, Red Hat India.

The Collaborative Ecosystem of Experts

Deploying solutions from Red Hat and its partners help customers benefit from the best of both worlds through innovative technology coupled with services, security, predictability and quality that clients' businesses demand. "Our products cover five primary technology areas: cloud computing, middleware, operating system, storage and virtualization," explains Rajesh. Being an expert at collaboration, Red Hat enables developing new technology, solving common problems, and shares the benefits with its customers and partners. Such collaboration with an ecosystem of IT leaders, open source advocates, developers and partners creates the perfect foundation for the future of IT.
