Going for the toughest job of the lot is necessary to survive this competitive environment,” quips Pradeep Rathinam. After dabbling in marketing and sales as well as product development, this IT veteran is all set to head the U.S. operations for the offshore development services provider, Aditi Technologies. “Skills and competence are not the only things that matter in the long run,” says he, “experience over domains will add a lot of value to your career.”

That would explain his move from Microsoft Corporation, his previous place of work for the last 12 years. Involved with enterprise sales eventually landing him the ‘Chairman’s Award’ for Asia awarded by Microsoft on a worldwide scale, his role there culminated as General Manager of the Independent Software Vendor (ISV) section. For the last three years Rathinam was responsible for driving the revenues and technology adoption with over 40,000 ISV s in the U.S.

He hopes to leverage this exposure into his current role as he heads the sales, marketing and customer facing organization for Aditi. “My first step would now be to grow the business to the next level by shifting the stand to much larger ISV customer base,” he says.

A lesser-known fact about this avid golfer and student of business management is that he was running his own business while still in college. Should we see it as foretelling of a new venture? “Not in the near future,” he confesses. “It would require a lot of preparation and until then I would like to keep at what I am good at.”
