S.R. Balasubramanian joins ISG NovaSoft

“The challenging part of this new role is that I do not hold an executive position and hence have to perform within constraints. Hence a balancing act has to be done with creativity but with the full co-operation of the management,” is the candid confession of the 28 year IT veteran S.R. Balasubramanian, Executive Vice-President, Special Projects and Group CIO of ISG NovaSoft (ISGN), a part of the $2 billion K.K Birla group. The Chennai based 12-year-old, 350 strong; $18 million company is an enterprise software products and services company. It specializes in three core business lines - Outsourced Software Product Development, Application Management Outsourcing and Enterprise Risk Management. Prior to his joining ISGN, Balasubramanian was Vice-President, Information Systems, Hero Honda Motors.

San Asuti is Executive VP, Congruent Solutions

“My stint with the start-up Isopia from 1999-2001 in the e-learning space as General Manager (Operations) was great. We took it to the Gartner Magic Quadrant for the best-architected software in the learning space,” says the over twenty year IT pro San Asuti. He is now appointed Executive Vice-President of the Chennai based 140-staffed Congruent Solutions. Congruent Solutions provides software development and business support services for companies in the U.S. focusing on niche markets such as retirement plans, e-learning and software product development. In his most recent assignment, Asuti was a senior manager in the Global Partner Strategy team at Sun Microsystems.

Yahoo! India welcomes George Zacharias as MD “I never traveled abroad until I was 30 and reached the U.S. when I was almost 33. When I stepped on the American soil I was overtaken by the sheer size, opulence, energy and willingness to think differently within that continent.” Now as Managing Director – Yahoo! India, George Zacharias will have to travel a lot more than all his previous stints combined! Yahoo’s revenues worldwide for the year ended December 31, 2005 were $5.2 billion. “I now look forward to make the Internet relevant to the next 100 million people in India,” says Zacharias. He moves to Yahoo from Sify, where he was President and Chief Operating Officer since 2000. Earlier as President of Madura Garments, Zacharias was responsible for $23 million in business, which he grew to $55 million in annual revenues in two and a half years.
