In a bid to make science a joyful experience to the young minds, the IT training institute NIIT, in collaboration with the US based Fourier Systems, has rolled out the Mobile Science Lab for schools in India.
The Mobile Science Lab enables the students to correlate classroom learning with day-to-day life. This portable device, which is incorporated with applications like Internet, word processing, spreadsheets, and email to help students tabulate, record, and share their observations, can bridge the gap, claims NIIT. It also enables the teachers to explain a concept without taking the entire classroom to the lab.
The solution incorporates the subjects of physics, chemistry, biology, and environmental sciences and integrates science lab with classrooms. Earlier, NIIT had launched Mobile Maths Lab 18 months ago.
NIIT has collaborated with the educational data logging devices maker Fourier Systems to customize the Mobile Science Lab to the Indian environment. As part of the tie-up, NIIT will make available technology-enabled learning solution to science through computer-aided experimentation, while Fourier Systems will offer the Nova 5000 science data logger with a range of probes for capturing the relevant data and other solutions for learning science.
