Nokia launched of three new smartphones, bringing market-leading innovation with Symbian Belle. The Nokia 700, Nokia 701 and Nokia 600 extend the range of available designs, features and functionality in the Nokia Symbian smartphone range. Symbian Belle powers all three, with ’Just Tap’ Near Field Communication (NFC) technology. With the launch of these products, Nokia now has four NFC-enabled smartphones in the market in addition to NFC enabled accessories.

“The smartphone market in India has rapidly evolved and is at a very interesting stage. Consumers are looking beyond the basic functionality of the smartphone. They realize the importance of form and shape of a device packed with innovative technology and look for the same in all smartphones. We believe our latest range of smartphones powered by Symbian Belle, with path-breaking technology in the form of ‘Just Tap’ NFC, will push the boundaries for future devices in this segment,” says T. S. Sridhar, Regional General Manager- South, Nokia India.

These new phones feature distinct set of priorities to allow users to choose what matters most in a smartphone. Nokia 700 comes with the most compact touch screen, Nokia 701 is a sleek and stylish smartphone with very bright mobile display for indoor or outdoor use, and Nokia 600 comes in as Nokia’s loudest entertainment smartphone. This is the first commercial roll-out of NFC in India by Nokia. Nokia is forecasting that in a global perspective, open NFC represents a far greater financial potential over the next two years than NFC applications that require a secure element on the device.
